Pain Bagnat

Turn up the charm with a picnic in the country. And if you can’t make the trek, a romantic city rooftop at sunset will do just fine. The Pain Bagnat plays well as the star at the heart of every hopeless romantic’s picnic. Construct with a baguette or 4 rolls.

Ingredients

  • 4 leaves green leaf lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • 2 hardboiled eggs, sliced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 (5 ounce) cans Genova Tuna in Olive Oil
  • 1 baguette, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons white balsamic vinegar
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Place lettuce, tomato, egg and onion on bottom half of baguette. Top with tuna. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drizzle with vinegar and serve.
