Voluntary Recall Information

The recent product announcement from Tri-Unions Seafoods regarding quarantined product that was inadvertently released and associated with a February 2025 recall is strictly limited to the products and retailers stated in our press release. The February 2025 recall was voluntary, and out of an abundance of caution following the notification from a U.S. lid supplier that the “easy open” pull tab can lid on limited products encountered a manufacturing defect that may compromise the integrity of the product seal (especially over time).

The impacted products are limited, and were distributed to retail stores as follows:

Genova 5 oz. –

• Meijer – Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin
• Giant Foods – Maryland and Virginia
• Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Pavilions – California

This recall does not impact any other Genova products.

Tri-Union Seafoods advises that consumers in possession of any product with the below Lot Codes should dispose of the product.

Below is a list of specific Lots and Best if Used By Dates impacted:

Out of an abundance of caution, Tri-Union Seafoods has made the decision to recall several products because of a potential issue with the easy open pull tab on the can lid.

The impacted products are limited, and were distributed to retail stores as follows:

• Genova 7 oz. – Costco in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, North Carolina
• Genova 5 oz. – Harris Teeter, Publix, H-E-B, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart, and independent retailers in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas

This recall does not impact any other Genova products.
